Treehoo is the worlds first real green search engine started (first as Heropeople.com) in March of 2008, with the idea of using some of the ad and retail sales revenues of the internet to fight global warming and climate change.
To do so 50 % of our net profit goes to plant trees worldwide as we believe it to be the best way to catch CO2 from the atmosphere. Trees are natural air filters and for the moment they are the most (and only) effective resource we have for this task.
Our idea is to use some of the remaining 50 % of the profit to develop Treehoo to a complete web portal but also use it as an incentive to attract investors, so far and thanks to our investors we are capable of offering our own search engine and free e-mail service.
Our profit comes from advertising and products sold through our links to Amazon.com and Allposters.com, these products are sold at the same price as usual, but we get a provision for every buyer that is refered from our site, so make your buying online through our site and help us to save the planet!
The predicted global Internet ad and retail sales revenues for 2009 are over 350 billion U.S.$, imagine just a tiny bit of that sum invested into our environment! The possibilities are unimaginable and its free of charge, can you ask for more?
Treehoo was founded by Pedro Bentancour Garin, Ph.D. student at the University of Stockholm, it is a Swedish corporation and has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.
Treehoo has been chosen as one of the best 100 global sustainable innovations by this years Globe Forum and has also been awarded with the "Globe Forum Facilitator Program",
