Moo Moos is a small family run on line business which sell organic and fairtrade baby and toddler clothing.
Whilst on maternity with my first daughter Martha ( nicknamed Martha Moo) I thought about starting my own business. With a new little addition to the family I decided I would like to sell baby clothes. I carefully selected suppliers who were conscientious and ethically driven and in 2007 Moo Moos began. I sell mostly at local craft fairs and events and set up a website that has been relaunched in 2010
I now buy from three businesses, Piccalilly , Green Baby and Little Green Radicals.
Piccalilly - are based in the Yorkshire Dales. They are committed to trading fairly with suppliers throughout the supply chain. Most of their clothes are made from organic fairtrade cotton and all carry the fair trade mark. A select number of products are made using conventional cotton and Piccalilly's aim is to support these small garment producers to in time access the organic cotton supply. They design fresh, stylish and unique clothing that is utterly gorgeous.
Green Baby - another U K based company. They produce all their organic and fairtrade clothing at Assisi Garments in South India. This community project managed by the Sisters of Assisi runs a school for deaf girls and the organic clothing factory was set up to provide jobs for them when they finish their education. It now provides not only a job , but a place to live , their meals and a fair wage. Green Baby's clothes are fun. colourful and affordable.
Little Green Radicals - are based in London. They exclusively produce organic and fairtrade clothing that are manufactured in India and Egypt. Their designs are colourful with ethical slogans that make you smile.
Organic Cotton is grown without the use of chemical pesticides therefore it - ensures farmers do not have to handle chemicals - chemicals do not enter the water supply - other crops can be rotated or grown alongside the cotton crop so farmers are not totally dependant on one crop. - is kinder to our skin.
