Tuppenny Barn Organics ltd is a 2 acre certified organic smallholding situated in Southbourne, West Sussex.
The project is committed to investing in our local community by growing vegetables, fruit, herbs, cut flowers,vegetables and plants for local people. We are dedicated to growing high quality, affordable organic produce and sell it at local farmers markets, weekly farm gate sales and via our veg bag scheme. We actively try & promote our sustainable working practises to encourage others to work with nature. We have schools visiting to see first-hand how a green & ethical smallholding project can give them ideas for their own outdoor classroom activities.
A key aim of the project is to sell our high quality seasonal food to the local community. By selling this way we minimise food miles meaning fewer carbon emissions and a healthier planet for us all. The fresher the food is the more nutrients and vitamins it contains. To buy our produce sign up to our weekly bag scheme, come to Chichester Farmers Market or to the field on a Thursday for our weekly farm gate sales.
We actively try & minimise our ecological footprint in all aspects of our business & reduce, reuse & recycle whenever possible. This green message continues through to the eco products we sell to help finance the smallholding. The companies we buy from have similar ethics to ours and give preference to renewable & recycled resources whenever possible. All money from the sales gets ploughed back into the project to help achieve our environmental & sustainable goals.
