Our Story

In the winter of 1922 John Scobie set sail from Glasgow with the dream of sourcing the finest quality herbs and spices from the Far East. For years he repeated his journey, spending up to six months at a time, constantly seeking to improve and perfect his products.

It was with the same dream that we formed The Organic Blending Company.

It means that Scobie & Junor can continue the traditions of our founder,sourcing organic herbs and spices to continue to bring the finest products for blending to the UK.

Remaining a family owned company, with our factory and offices in Scotland,ensures we continue to maintain the values and beliefs of our founder. What we add now, of course, is all the advantages that modern technology brings.

All our products are from non GM and non nut sources. Many are lactose free, and gluten free.

Our entire sourcing, purchasing and production systems are founded on quality and consistency. We are audited to the highest standards by EFSIS, for BRC and Organic Farmers and Growers.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

Keeping our carbon footprint small is an ever improving programme that our entire team strongly believes in.

STATE OF THE ART BLENDING

All our blending is carried out in a state of the art computerised factory. Customer visits are welcome – why not come and see for yourself what we do!

PACKAGING

Although it is essential for us to package our herbs, spices and blends we ensure that we optimise packaging use and use recycled products where possible.

TAILOR MADE

We have our own team of organic formulators who are in constant contact with our customers to ensure their requirements are always met.

We have combined herbs and spices to create great tasting blends for many years. Now we use organic herbs and spices to achieve an even greater result.
