LEMBAS is a thriving small business currently consisting of 10 full time staff and 8 part time staff. We are a committed, enthusiastic team, with a good, if somewhat warped sense of humour
We are committed to the principles of ethical trading and growing, recycling. We are active in the campaign against the genetic manipulation of foodstuffs, and actively encourage the sale of organic goods...you don't have to be veggie to work here but it helps...We aspire to a world where resources are managed sustainably. However, we are no Luddites; in fact we embrace modern technology where it serves us.
Our Policy on Genetic modification
Lembas is totally opposed to the use of Genetically Modified Organisms [GMO's]. We believe it must be left to the individual to make the choice as to whether GMO's are safe, needed or wanted.
Promoting organic as a preferred option:
We will actively promote organic as the preferred option to genetic agriculture and will highlight the need to protect the integrity of organic produce from attempts in the US and Europe to allow GMO crops to be certified as organically grown.
If you are concerned, interested or just require information about the issue of genetic modification, and how it might affect you, please contact:
Robert at firstname.lastname@example.org with your queries, or see us for further links
Running an Ethical Business
Lembas is an employee owned, co-operatively run local business. It is Lembas' policy to only supply goods that are Vegetarian according to the criteria laid down by the Vegetarian Society.
Lembas promotes Organically certified and Fair Trade products as the preferred option. It is our policy to recycle where possible.
Lembas is a supporter of the Baby Milk Campaign [cos we hate Nestle].
For more info contact the campaign on 01223 464420 or email@example.com.
